I hope you are all staying warm during this very cold January weather we are having.
Yesterday marked the start of our Auction Raffle Ticket sales with each of your students coming home with raffle tickets to sell. As you know, the Auction is a very important event that helps bridge the gap between the actual cost of each student’s education and the tuition families pay. Included with their tickets is a letter from the Auction Committee sharing the details of the Raffle prizes as well as student and school sales prizes. The Auction Committee has come up with some fun challenges for the students and school to help encourage students to sell their raffle tickets. As you can see in the Auction Committee’s letter, students who have turned in their Raffle ticket stubs are automatically entered each day to win a gift card. There is also a Classroom Challenge that will earn one classroom a Pizza and Ice-cream Party and Exclusive Non-uniform day!! As a school, if we reach our sales goal of $35,000, Monsignor will give us a day off of school!! The students get so excited by these great competitions and opportunities to win gift cards!
In addition to the start of the Auction Raffle, next week is Catholic Schools Week. Each day next week we will be celebrating our amazing school with such things like an all school praise and worship celebration, fun dress days, “Ask the Pastor”, movie day and an all school Outreach Project. The full CSW schedule was included in last Friday’s Sailor’s Corner – please take a moment and look at all the events and fun things your students will be doing. We will also be sending an email on Friday with the details of all the events and fun activities.
To kick off this fun week of celebrating our Catholic School is our Open House on Sunday, January 30th. This Open House is to welcome and give tours to families looking to possibly join our amazing school. We have had so many new families call in to schedule tours. If you have anyone interested in joining us at the Open House, please encourage them to call the school to schedule a time to tour.
The strength of the school is founded in our amazing teachers and generous & supportive families. Word of mouth and social media are significant avenues of sharing how great the great things about Star. While we all may differ in our opinions and feelings on many school issues, one commonality we all share is the continued strength and growth of Our Lady Star of the Sea School. We want to thank all our families and friends that use social media to help support the strength and growth of our school. We pray that feelings of unhappiness and uncertainty are not shared in such a way that can lead to a lessening of our strength and growth. Our current students and families are our best stewards!!
Finally, please remember that Friday, January 28th is the last day of early registration for our current Star families. Families can submit their student(s) registration and only $50 of the Registration Fee to secure their student(s) spot next year. This amount is refundable until the full Registration fee is paid and Tuition Contract submitted no later than Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Please take advantage of this and get your student(s) registration in by Friday.
We can not say thank you enough for such amazing families. We are so very blessed for each and every one of you. May God bless all of you and Our Lady Star of the Sea.
