The week of June 20
th our Preschool through grade 5 friends enjoyed a week of learning to
Follow Jesus, the Light of the World, through games at Spelunker Games & Sports, participating in Deep Bible Quests, themed snacks at the Cavern Café, watching inspiring stories about kids helping others in Kid Vid Cinema and a variety of activities at the Imagination Station. Not to mention, Mrs. Agius and our own Deacon Matt Hood playing the role of Clark Cavern and his misadventures as a spelunker!
The mom of one of our Kindergarten friends passed along this note….
"I have to tell you that C is LOVING vacation bible school. He comes home every day with a project and a story about Jesus. Gavin fell today and was crying and Carson said "don't worry Gavin Jesus gives you hope he will heal you"!!!! Carson also told me yesterday he wished VBS lasted the whole summer! One of the highlights is the young priest [Deacon Matt] who dresses up like a cave explorer every day, Carson goes nuts, he says he is so funny!!"
Fun and faith sharing – that’s what Vacation Bible School is all about and we could not do it every year without the help of the 60 adult and student volunteers who come together. Especially Mrs. Agius who coordinates the program and leads us in song and praise every day of VBS week along with her “skit” with Deacon Matt Hood, those who build awesome sets (Thank you Mr. King, Mr. Shea and Mr. Henchel!!), prepare delicious snacks (Thank you Ms. A. Solomon!), use their dramatic flair in the presenting Bible stories (Thank you Mrs. Haubert!), run herd in the games area (Thank you, Mrs. Rheaume!) and get our friends excited about science and crafts (Thank you Ms. P. Solomon!). Not to mention the high school and Middle School students who were so wonderful as the crew leaders and helpers. It is so rewarding to see them
all putting their faith in action!
Make plans to join us next year for another exciting Vacation Bible School, June 26-30, 2017.
