On April 9, we were made aware of a COVID-19 case in a student amongst the Our Lady Star of the Sea School Community. This occurred while the school was on Spring Break therefore, there are no close contacts in the school. We have been in close contact with Wayne County in regards to the case and are following all directives and COVID protocols. This data may include probable and confirmed cases among students, staff, administration, or coaches, if the person with COVID-19 was in the building or participating in a school-sponsored function during their infectious period.
The affected student is in Sixth Grade. We have determined the student has been out of school since their positive COVID-19 positive test. The student is currently home quarantining and will be returning safely to school as per Wayne County Health Department requirements.

Our school will continue to take every precaution necessary. This may include spraying classrooms, hallways, locker rooms, and common areas, as needed, with a sanitizer, along with other methods of disinfection.
