What a wonderful October we’ve just experienced! After so many months “apart,” it was such fun to witness the fellowship and generosity in all our events. As we read in the gospel of Luke, “to whom much is given, much is expected.” As the holiday season ramps up, we must not forget those who are less fortunate. In our own area, there are many who do not have a warm home, enough food to eat, or even the means to regularly do something as simple as brush their teeth.
This year’s All Good Gifts Thanksgiving Project, in which we create hygiene kits, will benefit St. Aloysius in Detroit. Yesterday, Father Mario spoke with our children about the community his team serves, and the benefits our hygiene kits will bring. Here is the list for each child’s specific kit item request. All items should be brought in by your child to be placed in a box in their classroom no later than Monday, November 15. It is our responsibility as Catholic Christians to help ensure the dignity of human life from conception to death. Creating these hygiene kits is one small way to show our children how they can support this call. We look forward to your contributions during this blessed season of Thanksgiving.
