UPDATE Regarding School Mass

Star Families,

Please continue to pray for the victims of the Michigan State University shooting - Brian Fraser, Arielle Anderson, and Alexandria Verner – and their families. May God welcome Brian, Arielle, and Alexandria with open arms into paradise and keep His loving arms around their families.

As you know the safety and security of our students and staff is of the utmost importance to us. We continue to discuss options to increase the level of security of the church during our weekly school Masses. As a family community school and parish, we love to share God’s message and Eucharist together at our school Masses. Finding a balance between the security of our students with the inclusion of our school and parish community members at our school Masses is important to us.

As our school and parish leadership team continues to discuss how to best find that balance, we have decided until further notice the school Masses will be moved to Thursday mornings for staff and students only. Parents and parishioners will not be in attendance at school Masses at this time, with the exception of Preschool chaperones.

This is not a decision we thought we would ever have to make but during these traumatic times in our society, we deemed it an important measure to put in place for now. Please know that we value having our community attend our school Masses, and we will work toward the best option that can marry the safety of our students and staff with the inclusion of our school and parish community.
