Financial Aid for 2026-2027

We strongly encourage each family to review the below information and apply for tuition assistance. Last year, Our Lady Star of the Sea (OLSOS) school families benefited from over $12,000 in tuition assistance grants received through this program. While there is a nominal, per family fee to apply, the potential benefits to families and the school are tremendous. The application window opens on December 15^th and the deadline for submission is February 27, 2026. There is also a pastor verification letter that must be received in the Parish Office no later than noon on February 26^th.

In addition to the AoD Tuition Assistance Grant program, there are three other assistance opportunities available to OLSOS families.

1. St. Anne’s Scholar program through the Catholic Foundation of Michigan: established in 2020 as a way for Catholic families to afford a Catholic education. The Catholic Foundation of Michigan works with pastors and principals to identify families who could benefit from these scholarships.
2. The Henry and Mary Lou Wholihan scholarship: established to provide a grant to one or more students at Our Lady Star of the Sea. Eligible students should be current pre-school students advancing to kindergarten and/or current 5^th grade students advancing to 6^th grade for the 25-26 school year.
3. Parish donor-funded tuition assistance grants: Through the very generous donations of various parish benefactors, there are dedicated funds available to support Catholic education opportunities for distribution to those with demonstrated need.

As mentioned in the opening paragraph, the starting point for access to these resources is to apply for assistance through the AoD tuition assistance program. This will help us both take full advantage of AoD funds and best determine how to distribute available parish scholarship funds to families in greatest need.
