Procedures for Dropping Off and Picking Up Children

Morning Drop-Off

• Car Line:

  • Enter the school/church parking lot and drive under the covered walkway.

  • Pull up to the first staff member or safety monitor before your child exits.

  • Children exit on the passenger side and walk to the courtyard entrances.

  • Staff and student safety monitors will guide them.

  • Parents should remain in the car—do not exit to help.

  • Once your child is out, stay in line and continue forward. The line moves quickly.

  • Exit the parking lot by turning right only.

• Parking Option:

  • Park your car and walk your child to the courtyard entrance using one of the two yellow crosswalks.

  • Children should never cross the parking lot alone.

  • Park at the far end when possible to use the sidewalk and avoid crossing traffic.

  • If parking in the main area, use the second lot and cross at the designated crosswalk.

  • Pedestrians must wait until car line traffic stops before crossing.

  • Do not park in the car line—this is a fire lane.

• Reminders:

  • All students (Preschool–8th grade) enter through the courtyard doors

  • Only one lane of traffic is permitted. Do not pass or cut in line.

  • If bringing a dog, it must remain in your car.

  • Parents do not walk children to classrooms; independence is encouraged.

Midday & Preschool Dismissal

• Half-Day Preschool/Kindergarten: Dismissed at 11:00 am through the courtyard doors.

• Full-Day Preschool & Young 5’s: Dismissed at 3:00 pm.

  • Teachers remain with students until a parent or caregiver arrives.

  • If no one arrives within 10 minutes, students go to the office.

  • Please call if you will be late.

• Children should not play in the courtyard after dismissal.

Afternoon Pick-Up (K–8)

Parents may choose one of two methods:

1. Park & Pick Up

   • Park in a designated spot.

   • Walk to your child’s teacher (K–2) or dismissal area.

   • Use crosswalks when crossing traffic.

2. Car Line Pick Up

   • One moving car line only—no second lanes.

   • Parents remain in the car; children must be able to enter independently.

   • If your child isn’t ready, park in a spot or re-enter the line.

   • Do not leave your car or have conversations in the car line.

Dismissal Times & Areas

• 3:05 pm – Kindergarten through 2nd Grade (courtyard doors; children released directly to parents/caregivers).

• 3:10 pm – 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades (courtyard doors; may walk to cars after teacher acknowledgment).

• 3:10 pm – 6th, 7th, and 8th Grades (gym courtyard doors).

• If picking up children with different dismissal times, please park and walk to meet them.

• Parents must supervise children after dismissal—no playing in the courtyard.

Early Dismissal

• Send a note to your child’s teacher and notify the office.

• Sign your child out in the office vestibule.

• The office will call your child down at the designated time.

Exiting the Parking Lot

• Between 7:30–8:15 am and 2:45–3:30 pm, all cars must turn right only when leaving the lot.

• This keeps traffic safe and flowing smoothly.
