I pray you are all doing well and God is with each and every one of you in some way this morning.
With the recent horrible tragedy in Oxford yesterday, it is inevitable that some of our students are aware of the tragedy and want to talk about it with their friends in school and possibly during class. As a school we do not feel it is our place to discuss something so horrible and tragic with our students, particularly our young ones. If the topic is brought up we will be quickly and appropriately addressing it and discouraging any further discussions, letting students know that it is a horrible and sad situation that is better talked to with their parents.
Please know that we work daily to keep the school safe for all our students and staff through a variety of safety protocols. We continue to work with the Grosse Pointe Woods Public Safety Department to ensure we are taking all appropriate precautions and practicing all necessary safety drills.
Please join me in praying for the families of all the victims and those affected in any way by this devastating event. As we are still in the Thanksgiving season, let us say a prayer of thanks and gratitude to God for our wonderful families, friends and community. God bless.
