Beginning this fall, we are trialing a new after school program. If successful, we plan to expand the program in the spring. This six-week program will run once a week on Thursdays, starting October 6 and ending on November 10. Class descriptions are listed below and separated by grade level. Given that this is a new program, participation is limited and is first come, first served via the Sign Up Genius links listed below each class. If the classes fill up, we will begin a waiting list, and you will be notified if a spot opens. Once your sign up is completed, we will send you and information sheet to complete and to return with your payment via check (made out to "Cash") or via cash. Questions, or if you are interested in volunteering for the program or suggesting new class ideas for the future, please reach out to Rose Farley at 310-717-3005 or irose75@me.com.
Creative Movement, preschool - Kindergarten: This fun and active class is a perfect introduction to dance for both boys and girls. Students will have the opportunity to get their wiggles out via games and music, while also learning some basics of ballet and modern dance. For the final class, parents will be invited to observe all the children have learned. Comfortable clothes are required (shorts, t-shirt, gym shoes). Leader: Patrice Iannace, ‘Miss Patti’ to her many beloved students, is a local dance and community theatre veteran. A longtime teacher at Caseli Dance, Miss Patti also leads the Grosse Pointe Farms Parks and Recs dance program. Her philosophy is to make dance fun while helping children find creative ways to express themselves — we are excited to welcome her energy to our Star Lights program.
