Upcoming Halloween Parade

Good Afternoon Star Families,

Our PINK Week for Breast Cancer Awareness has been a big success so far. Through our PINK Non-uniform Day on Monday and popsicle sales at lunch, we have raised close to $350 for Breast Cancer Research. Our plan is to continue to sell popsicles at lunch Wednesday and Thursday as well. Thank you for encouraging your student(s) to participate in such a great cause.

As you know, Friday is our Halloween celebration day - Kindergarten through 8^th grade students can wear Halloween costumes to school. The Halloween parade at 8:30am. If the weather holds out, we will be parading around the neighborhood as usual and would love families to join us in the parking lot or along the parade route to see all the great costumes. The route takes us out the gym doors and onto Fairford then Morningside onto Thorntree then Deeplands to Ballantyne and then back onto Fairford, entering the school through the gym doors. Currently it looks like it may be a wet and rainy day. If this forecast holds, the parade will be moved inside and will be for students and teachers only. Say some prayers for good weather!!! Class parties for our Kindergarden through 8^th graders will be following the parade based on their teacher’s schedule.

School is a Half Day - Pick up will begin with our Preschool through Kindergarden at 11:00am, 1^st-2^nd Grades 11:45am, 3^rd-5^th 11:50am and 6^th-8^th 12:00pm.

So all students have a great day, please remember some basics guidelines for costumes:

Appropriate costumes
No weapons
No costume masks
Middle school – no morph suits unless appropriately covered, no leggings, and skirts or shorts must follow the non-uniform dress code for length and fit. Your student’s teacher has reviewed the costume rules with them so please make sure they follow their teacher’s rules as well.

Please remember that students must still wear a mask for COVID-19 protocols – these masks can match their costume if they choose.

If your student decides to not wear a costume, they may either wear their school uniform or dress in Spirit Wear day non-uniform clothing.
