Science

6th Grade Science:
Students will learn about Earth Science.  The curriculum will not only focus on science content but also on a variety of skills to help them become independent learners.  These skills include:   lab skills, engineering skills, computer skills, study skills, problem solving skills, note taking skills, organizational skills, higher order thinking skills, and collaboration skills.  One highlight of the year is the science fair project.
 
7th Grade Science:
Students will learn about Physics the first semester and Chemistry in the second semester.  The skills introduced during 6^th grade will be practiced and further developed throughout 7^th grade.  Engineering, robotics, and 3D printing will also be introduced.  One highlight for the year is the invention convention project.
 
8th Grade Science:
Students will learn about Life Science.  In addition, a keystone experience for the year is the engineering design project.  The skills from the previous two years will continue to be developed and practiced.  Engineering, robotics, and 3D printing will also be incorporated into the curriculum as well as dissecting and biotechnology labs.
